Waldon Street Car Park Temporarily Closed For Improvements

The Waldon Street Car Park which services Middleton Grange Shopping Centre will be closed from 1^st March for 12 weeks while improvements are made.  Alternative parking is located at the multi-storey car park, which is accessed via Stockton Street.

The Waldon Street Car Park will undergo a face lift which will lead to 88 more car parking spaces, an increased number of disabled bays, a better lit and therefore safer environment, as well as better pedestrian access via the stairwell to Primark.  The pay and display charge will remain the same.

Directional signage will divert shoppers to the multi-storey car park and pedestrian access will still be available to the retailers located to the rear of the car park, which include New Look, River Island, Primark, Esquires, Bon Marche and Clarks. 

Mark Rycraft, centre manager at Middleton Grange comments: I want to assure shoppers that the car park closure will create very limited disruption to shoppers as they will still be able to visit Middleton Grange and park easily at the multi-storey car park.  We have a programme of works planned this year to improve Middleton Grange, so watch this space.”

Philip Hepburn, parking services manager, Hartlepool Borough Council, adds, “The Waldon Street Car Park is already a Park Mark award winning car park, however we want to provide the best parking services possible for the shoppers of Hartlepool.  We look forward to unveiling the improved car park at the end of May.”
